UAE Oil Field Worker Camp

Project Basic Information

Project Name: UAE Oil Field Worker Camp

Location: A desert oil field area in the UAE

Application Scenario: Oil and gas field development

Product Types: Prefabricated houses and container houses (including flat-pack containers and quick-assembly containers)

Project Scale: The camp covers an area of 2,000 square meters and serves as a comprehensive facility integrating work, living, dining, and entertainment functions.

Main Challenges:

Extreme Environmental Conditions:

The UAE desert experiences extremely high daytime temperatures, significant day-night temperature variations, and frequent sandstorms. This posed severe challenges to the building’s insulation, thermal retention, sealing, and structural durability.

High Fire Safety Requirements:

Areas such as the kitchen within the camp needed to meet higher fire safety standards.

Rapid Deployment and Reusability:

Oil field project timelines are subject to change, requiring buildings to be quickly assembled and capable of being disassembled and reused in other projects in the future to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Comprehensive Living Support:

In the remote desert, it was essential to provide workers with a comfortable living environment, dining facilities, sanitation amenities, and recreational spaces within a limited area to ensure their well-being and work efficiency.

Solutions:

Modular Design and Rapid Construction:

Utilized flat-pack containers and quick-assembly containers as modular construction solutions. Living quarters and offices employed highly prefabricated flat-pack containers, with roofs and floors completed in the factory, significantly improving on-site construction efficiency. Functional areas such as kitchens and dining halls adopted highly customized detachable container solutions to meet specific spatial and functional requirements.

Enhanced Insulation and Climate Control:

The container houses were constructed with high-quality steel frames and customized sandwich panels, with frame thickness and wall materials adjustable based on client needs. Both the inner and outer walls of the containers were insulated with 50mm thermal insulation materials to ensure stable indoor temperatures and reduce air conditioning energy consumption.

Specialized Fireproof Design:

For the kitchen area, double-layer glass magnesium rock wool panels were used as enclosures, and an innovative stainless steel fireproof ceiling system was implemented. This fireproof solution far exceeded standard requirements in actual testing.

Human-Centric Facility Configuration:

The camp was designed with high-grade and standard living quarters, office buildings, recreational facilities, and storage areas. The dining hall was partitioned based on job roles, and wider containers with higher ceilings were customized to ensure dining comfort.

Product Details:

Structural Material:

3mm galvanized steel frame with multi-layer anti-corrosion coating, providing excellent corrosion resistance.

Wall Panel Material:

PU-edged rock wool sandwich panels, tightly connected to prevent air infiltration, offering excellent fireproof and thermal insulation properties.

Kitchen Fireproofing:

Class A fireproof materials, such as rock wool sandwich wall panels, fireproof flooring, and roof glass wool insulation. Interior wall panels were made of easy-to-clean stainless steel.

Indoor Environment:

Living units were equipped with private bathrooms and climate control devices (air conditioning). The dining hall was installed with heating and cooling systems to create a healthy and spacious environment.
